Treasure Hill

The next community meeting we have in October Commish Valentino will be with us. If we were to get speed bumps or Stop signs which would you prefer?

Stop signs would be the same as it is now because of the layout of Treasure Hills.  The speed bumps would slow traffic and hopefully make it less attractive to the renter population since it is so plentiful in Treasure Hills.  I also think that as homeowners and taxpayers in the highest collected area of Pensacola that we should inquire to see if Commissioner Valentino would assist us with getting a ordinance passed called " Immeminent Domain" placed on the Treasure Hills Community which would restrict homes from being rented and only be populated by homeowners. 

This would do several things for the area.  This would mean more appealing area for home owners, cut down on crime, remove the mobile homes, increase value on the already up and coming Gulf Beach Rd which would increase revenue for the city government threw property taxes.  Not to mention cut down on the money and revenue that it costs the city to continuously send police, ambulances, firetrucks, and life light helicopters out to the area due to low income families that continuously rent in the area due to the housing situation that already exists (cheap rentals).

I and the family moved into Treasure Hills in July of 2005 in hopes of the area developing

and continuing the growth and value of this beautiful location.  I also believe if the local government evaluates the money spent and lost from this particular area due to the renter population then it may cause them to see the light.

I refuse to believe that the Local Officials would not entertain the idea and would be much more affective then speed bumps.  Getting them to act on the behalf of the homeowners who want the area to prosper is another story.  As you have seen by driving around that there are several blocks of property owned by contractors with a vision to come but if it something drastic isn't done to correct the situation then it will stay status quo. 

Just a thought.  Hopefully it does not offend but if we want to raise our children in a safe neighborhood and see it appreciate as an investment then something major has to change and hopefully Commissioner Valentino would agree. 

Treasure Hills should not be an eye sore so close to the most beautiful beaches in the Gulf but more like beach homes and sidewalks leading to Big Lagoon State Park and to the beaches less than 2 miles away.
