who's going thru the alleys and cutting down trees on our properties? have been informed it may be garbage collectors, but someone has cut down (butchered) a walnut tree on the alley side of my property on ash, and left it there to rot. working a lot and just trimmed all that one month ago - growing thingies there to keep soil from eroding. have lived here 27 years and this is new. any ideas? thanks!
alleyway gardener or butcher?

Not sure what is going on. Did any of your other neighors have problems with trees being "trimmed"? Wonder if this happened when the big trucks came around for junk pick up and were too big to fit thru? Maybe call MetroCall and inquire about this situation. |

actually walked thru the full alley, and found similar "trimming" all the way from hoertz to hickory - trees and bushes and vines. i emailed metrocall seeing as how i had been "informed" it may have been garbage collectors, but no reply yet. wouldn't city employees with that sort of problem leave a notice? trimming limbs on a tree is one thing, but sawing it into pieces down to the ground is another...the difference between maintainance and destruction. thanks! |

I am not the person who trimmed your tree, I do believe that more people in our neighborhood should take better care of the weeds, shrubs, trees, and etc that are growing in the alleys. I park in the alley and it is hard to get in and out with out scratching your car. I have mentioned it to one of my neighbors and offered to help, and was told that since they don't drive through the alley, they don't care. That is a very "neighborly" response! I am not sure if your tree was in the way but I still think everyone should clean up their part of the alley. |
