In addition, it's also the site where Amy Robinson was murdered.  You'll see a cross on its own across the street next to a communications tower that marks the spot.  Amy's family said she always hated to be alone.  Having the memorial there is their way of easing that.

It's a very moving place to visit.  I just hate it when another cross shows up.

Amy Robinsons body was found in a field behind where the lone cross stands.  Amy was a young lady that was mentally challengedand worked at a local grocery store.  Amy was befriended by two men who came in the store who proceeded to torture her to death...the defense was they to were mentally or emotionallychallenged.   I distinctly remember because my baby Sister is a very special individual and the thought of what Amy went through and her Family made me want to throw up!  You can't change EVIL!(only God can...if the person asks). If I remember correctly Amy was 19 and was offered a ride by her abductors, she was riding her bike to work...they shot her repeatedly with a pellet gun while she begged to live before they shot her in the head and laughed about it.  I do believe Amy worked at Kroger at the time.  I don't think, I will ever purge the newscast from m mind, and cannot even imagine the torture her famile suffers still today.  Amy's family is still in my prayers yet today.

Candy, I agree completely.  I'll never forget Amy.  Never met her personally, but she seemed to be the sweetest girl.  I'll also never forget how her murderers laughed about it when the local news stations interviewed them.  No remorse at all in killing someone who had no chance of defending herself.  One of them at least faced up to his punishment and has been executed.  The other doesn't have a date set yet.  One day.

Candy,

I remember the time Amy was murdered. We had just moved to Texas from New Mexico and lived here for a few months. I remember so well as we have a special need child with Downs. She was about a year old then when the murder happened.

This has haunted me for years thinking what the young woman went through. Even when I was in Europe doing an assignment for several weeks, I had thought a time  or two when I was there about Amy.

The murderers deserves the eye for eye suffering though one already is gone and hope where he is at... the worm dieth not.

Well, we will meet Amy one day where she is happy and comfortable.
