The Pima County Health Department has found West Nile Virus within the City of Tucson in an area bounded by Alvernon Way, Pima Street, Kolb Road and 29th Street.
West Nile Virus is spread by mosquito bites and can cause serious illness in
people of all ages. Bites can happen both inside and outside your home. effoftsto-bwer illness,-we stron iy urge you to.
?• Use insect repellent with DEET, Picaridan, or Oil of Lemon
Eucalyptus when outside between dusk and dawn ?• Wear long pants and long sleeves ?• Keep windows and doors closed
?• Repair window and door screens
?• Use mosquito larvicide; available from home improvement stores ?• Clean up your yard
?• Dump standing water (flower pots, toys, buckets, old tires, garbage
cans)

Pima County Health Department and the City of Tucson will continue to evaluate all options for mosquito abatement to protect the health and safety of the community. Mosquito abatement actions include: community education, eliminating standing water, larvicide (tablets placed into pools or wet spots), adulticide (fogging with pesticide).
