am on 42nd and Pittsburg. Last week, I reported to the police mysterious fresh blood splatters and spots on the sidewalks directly next to my house and porch. While the police were there, I reported the vehicles tracks and ruts left on my lawn caused by someone driving through it and getting stuck. Second time that has happened.

Just thought you might want to know.

Greetings Tom.

Thought I'd report that a neighbor up here near 43rd and Pittsburg called me this morning and reported that he was gone Sunday (yesterday) and when he returned home about 11:30 pm last night he found someone had opened his storm door and took a large stone (actually the end of a cinder building block) and used it to smash the window in his entry way door in an attempt to open the door.

The entry door was a modern type with the nice leaded glass oval. As you know, these doors have an outside protective glass to protect the more valuable inner leaded glass. The outside glass shattered into pieces leaving a pile of glass and the inner glass cracked in several places but the leaded inserts with the cracked glass of the inner glass remained intact and the suspect was not able to get into this home.

The home owner told me that he had lived here 20 years and this was the first incident of this happening to his home.

In my opinion this was amateur work as another hit or two with the stone and the inner glass would have failed too.

This makes me think as people report these incidents to you (or whoever is the neighborhood contact) we need to get some details as we may see some similar patterns of attempts like this and perhaps it will be useful if the police catch someone doing it that they could be linked to other incidents..

Feel free to distribute this info if you think it would be helpful to our community neighbors.
