My wife and I were some of the first in the neighboorhood to subscribe to the E-Street DSL service, and stayed with them even once their service was "borged" by Centurylink.  A couple of years ago, we made the mistake of switching to another company (for a home business opportunity, since abandoned, which allowed us to determine that the DSL line was insufficient to also support VOIP service.)  Once we were able to switch back to Centurylink, we lost our slot in the DSL box on E Black Forest.

All of that leads me to my question.  Has anybody heard anything about possible new capabilities coming to the area?  Centurylink expanding new lines as far as across Inspiration?  Comcast doing the same with their cable offerings?  One of our techie neighbors leasing a large comms pipe from somebody to run a local business serving the needs of the neighborhood?

All-in-all, Hughesnet and DishNet have proven to be overpriced and underpowered, and I know of at least one neighbor who's looking for "better than Centurylink" service.

Hello, we have just purchased a home in the Downs section of Canterberry Crossing and are wondering what the best provider is for internet and cable tv.  Many thanks in advance for any assistance.  Cheers.

We use Rise Briadband for both telephone and internet services.  It is a satellite based system and is very reliable.  We have used them since 2008.  They bought out the original company that we used.  I would give them a try.
