Last year's Christmas cards are finding a new life giving joy through the hands, hearts and talents of two senior citizens who can't stop helping others in need.
Those two women, Marjorie Cook and Marie Palagi, have spent all year making Christmas stockings by crocheting two Christmas cards together and filling them with candy and treats. This year they have made a record 3800 and are giving them to the Veterans Hospital in Phoenix, Pappas School for homeless children and other schools, and nursing homes.
They raise money by converting used greeting cards into ''new'' cards and selling them. They glue the front of the old card onto new card stock to create beautiful ''new'' cards. These are very reasonably priced with the proceeds going to fill the little Christmas card stockings that are being given away.
Please call 602-863-3776 to purchase them. And don't forget to save and recycle this year's Christmas cards for their next year's projects.
