Valley High Manor by most standards should be considered a young neighborhood. Almost all of the housing stock dates to the 1960's when the entire area was developed. We are one of the smallest geographic neighborhoods in the city, and like only a couple of the others have very limited ingress/egress, namely Dean Ave on one side and University Ave on the other.
Being isolated as we are and sharing our eastern boundary with Pleasant Hill, separated by the Four Mile flood plain, there is an abundance of wildlife and semi forested area within our boundaries, including a small city park pictured on this page. With rolling hills, flood plain, and mature lots, the neighborhood is a quiet friendly place to live, take a walk, or sled in the park during the winter months. With only about three hundred addresses, it's also an easy to place get acquainted with your neighbors. Our other boundaries are Dean to the S.,University on the N., and E 30th to the W.
Our association, while recognized, is only semi-formal. We meet four times a year, and host a variety of activities during the year.
