No Apologies Necessary
Denise,
It is as I thought it was. I looked in a posting box, no resolution, but there was an agenda which listed a resolution for a contract for Buca. This is an example of how an innocent mistake can be turned by some into political turmoil. Instead of waiting to hear all of the facts some would jump to the conclusion that the sky is falling and the boggie man is out to get you.
The Messenger made a mistake. You read it and rightfully asked a question. I too agree that it would be nice to be able to walk down the street for a nice meal and be able to enjoy the neighborhood on a walk home. A lot would have to change here in our little Village for that to happen.
I am glad to hear that you were able to get an answer from the Mayor. I have been disappointed by the lack of communication from the Mayor and Council about what is going on in the Village. But it is good to see that you got a response. Did the mayor say that he was getting a lot of questions about the Messenger article? Something like that should stir up the residents and the Village Council and Mayor have to answer quickly to prevent it from being spun out of control.
Again, no need to apologize, when I answered I had not seen the article, stuck in an airport in Salt Lake City trying to get home. It does concern me a little about the level of attention that the reporter is paying to what is going on at the meetings. If Buca was coming to Valleyview I would think that would be the headline and not buried 8 pages back.
We can all dream of a Village with little shops and diners to walk to as we sit and watch bicyclists along the paved bike path to the south of the Village bringing people to look in our shops and relax with a cup of coffee or other preferred beverage and watch the world pass by.
