Your Opinion
What a resident has to say can make a difference.
Would that be how you listened to the residents about the Police Department and still voted to disband them?
That was the easy way out. The Difficult decision would have been to keep the Police Department and find a way to make it work.
You and the others took the easy road and avoided the hard work.
I listen to the residents and I believe that the current Council listens to the residents as well. I always strive to explain why something can or cannot be done. The beauty of our Democracy that we live in is the ability to be able to express your feelings and opinions. In my opinion there has been little input for the Council. Attendance at Council Meetings is low, but improving, and without residents there to speak the Council cannot get the feedback that we need. I encourage residents to come to the meetings and express their concerns. Unlike in the past residents can sign up to speak throughout the meeting and even if they did not sign the list they are still allowed to address the Council and Mayor.
Regardless of what a person living in another state who has not attended a Council meeting in over a year has to say, Residents' comments can make a difference.
