Valleywood Homeowner's Association

Valleywood Meetings are held the 1st Monday of each month. When Memphis City Schools are in session, meetings are held at Havenview Middle School. When Memphis City Schools are on a holiday, meetings are held at Davis YMCA, Erma Foster's Day Care, Whitehaven Library, or in a Neighborhood Home. The agenda is based upon neighborhood concerns. Speakers are usually from outside the community. We celebrate National Night Out the first Tuesday in August, and sponsor a Christmas Dinner/Dance in December.Officers and members attend City Council Meetings and all public forums where topics affect our community. Valleywood has adopted Havenview Middle and Holmes Elementary Schools whereas members provide on-site assistance to students with problems. Prior to major city elections, Valleywood conducts a forum for candidates to address the current issues. There is a lot of sharing and caring in Valleywood. Each month, one home on each street is awarded the YARD OF THE MONTH sign and one home is awarded the overall VALLEYWOOD YARD OF THE MONTH. The competitive spirit is nothing compared to the sharing of yard and garden tips and the pride that comes with knowing a neighbor is helping to make VALLEYWOOD "A Better Place To Live"

Valleywood Homeowners' Association

To accomplish there goals, the talents, skills and dedication of residential volunteers are utilized. A President, Vice President, Secretary, Corresponding Secretary, Treasurer and two Block Captains from each of the eight streets govern the association. Committees comprised of volunteers are responsible for the development and implementation of the objectives of the association. In 1999 Valleywood revceived a grant from the Community Foundation of Greater Memphis to establish and maintain communication channels in the neighborhood. Office equipment and supplies and two-way radios are the conduit for communication. Valleywood is a 501(c)(4) organization as ruled by I.R.S. Dues are $25 per year per person.
