Dear Arthur,

Some students will teach the teachers...maybe you are correct. On the other hand, the voters may be the "disciplinarian" of students and teachers.  However, with the tenuous financial situation, one could easily see many local and national elections by won by margins of 52 percent to 48 percent.  In essence, the outcomes of many Pawtucket and national political  races will be based on how many people will lose their homes or become really hungry between Sunday, October 12 and Tuesday, November 4.

Cases in point of voter indecision and voter frustration:  Pollster.com shows an indefinite Obama victory with polls ranging from four to 12 percent.  United States Senate races in North Carolina, New Jersey, New Mexico, and Minnesota are virtually tied.

In closing, the frustration level of voters will decide many local and national races.

Jim

Can you trust the folks who put us in this tragedy? The Bush-McCain supporters continue to put their feet in mouth and whether local or national, many of the past practices can not be tolerated to be reactionary, but we need for ourselves and our kids and grandkids, people who will see to the future to prepare our cities and towns and nation to be prepared for the future.

Interesting sidelight in todays Projo that Marcos despite his tough Phillipine reign also created a geothermal base of energy production that gives them 28% of their power requirements vs our country and it's president that cut the geothermal budget.

We certainly are going to see wild prices in our electric bil and wait til our water bills go popping up...but are we going to see anything from this bailout except for higher taxes. Sure going to be nothing on Wednesday nite for the debates.

So what do you think about the national and world bailout stuff? Any lessons for us locally? Are any of the values really there or are they figments of our imagination and hopes?

What affects will there be in the local elections in Pawtucket?
