History
The Van Nuys TNI was established one year after the others but has quickly developed a plan tailored to the area's needs. The TNI centers around Van Nuys Boulevard, between Vanowen and Bessemer Sts., considered the "hub" of the San Fernando valley and containing Federal, State, and City facilities and services. A vibrant, multiethnic community surrounds this corridor. The Van Nuys TNI has created four strategic partnerships; Business owners and Merchants, Homeless, Recreation and Youth, and Residential. The most integral part of the partnerships is the collaboration between key City staff, community leaders and community based organizations serving this area. Partnerships are co-chaired by both City staff and a community leader. This structure ensures accountability not only to the individual partnership, but to the entire community.
