Should Dues be higher?

Posted in: Westlake
Has the Association wronged You?

You sound bitter. Perhaps instead of trying to dissolve the association, you could try to help support it and help it to flourish. For some reason, you are quick to want to end the association and I'm pretty sure that if you used all of your negative energy into doing good things for the neighborhood, everyone would benefit. Sorry you have so much time, bylaws, and will to destroy something that a few people are working very hard to sustain and improve.

Think b4 U speak

Actually I have been to some of the homeowner meetings, and I have taken part in some of the plans and discussions, and I pick up trash on the street when I see it. You need to think before you speak because I do contribute. I pay 115 per year, and as a result of going to the meetings I know there is a long list of people who haven't, so take your own advice. I like my house, and I like the neighborhood. I am free to speak my mind on any given subject as I already did and I stand firm by what I say. The money we spend each year is not being utilized efficiently-bottom line. The possible raising of the dues is an exact result of the homeowners that choose to not pay their dues, and don't care anything about this neighborhood. I shouldn't have to be the one to call about fixing the streets, or having residents mow their lawns that is exactly why we have a board meeting every month, and that is why we elect board members to represent the neighborhood. Don't try to attack someone who is for helping the neighborhood, and making it a better place. You need to go talk to some of the people who owe 3 years of dues.

HA! Not even comparable!

NO! I do not think that dues should be higher for goodness sakes! Why punish the loyal people that live in this neighborhood to simply make up for the idiots who don't pay?

By the way, I took a gander in the Northlake addition since we going to compare ourseleves to that community! First of all..ITS GATED! The roads look great! The cars are not parked all over the streets! The lawns are neat and manicured! Hmmm..I think that pretty much sums up the differences in Northlake and Westlake.
I am not trying to say that there are not some highlights to our neighborhood, I'm just saying that $100 a year seems comparable to Northlake's $300 when you look at the differences in the cosmetics of the neighborhood alone.

bitter

Wow, it never ceases to amaze me at the amount of energy people put into complaining about the way things are in the neighborhood, but when asked for input, ideas, or help, they have nothing to contribute.
