Please let me respond to some of the comments which have been made about the snow removal as we have transitioned to a new vendor, a company called Clearscape. As you may have seen, those comments range from some expressing “disappointment” to another saying that the snow removal is “fine.”

First, please know that the WWonRC board members and the members of the Landscape and Streets Committee welcome constructive comments and are aware of the recent comments which are being made. Those include matters identified in the latest posting as well as matters identified in the postings following the November 29th snow removal.

We would ask your indulgence and patience as we work with the vendor to try and address not only a few complaints, but also how the snow removal is being done.

Some of the comments which have been made have related to the manner in which Clearscape is pushing snow in areas on our lawns. That is partly due to the different equipment used by Clearscape (plow vs. blower), which makes snow removal on our driveways much better but requires that the snow be pushed off. We will continue to explore with Clearscape ways in which that can be mitigated or perhaps more strategically placed, but the snow has to be pushed and piled somewhere.

Also, some have expressed concern about damage to lawns. Again, we will continue to speak to the Clearscape representative about that. And, of course, we will look to them to remedy any damage to the lawns.

In addition to asking for your patience, we’d also like to ask for your help. Please do not take it upon yourselves to speak to the plow drivers about how they are doing the snow removal. Some folks who responded in these discussion posts described speaking to the workers. Please don’t do that. Clearscape has a representative assigned to our area and we need to work through him. Speaking to the workers directly may result in conflicting messages at odds with what our committee members are communicating.

If you have an urgent problem which needs to be addressed, contact one of the committee members.

Also, keep in mind that board members and committee members are volunteers. While we encourage constructive comments, keep in mind that we are volunteers trying to do the best we can. The tone of your comments can have an influence on not only how sympathetic any response might be but also on whether our volunteers will be willing to continue doing the thankless work they do to make WWonRC a desirable place to live.

Finally, if you’d like to be part of the solution, we’d welcome having you join our committees and be part of working with our vendors to get the best possible service for our money. It's challenging work and we don't thank our volunteers enough for all the unseen efforts they make.

Finally, let me extend holiday and seasonal wishes to all of our residents.

Thank you.

Andy Eisenzimmer

No matter what issues we have had or may have in the future, I am enormously grateful for the contribution of this committee, whose members volunteers for a critical and generally thankless task. Vendor management is no simple matter, it calls for a careful blend of pressure, tact, and strategy. I am 100% confident that the committee is bringing first-class vendor management skills to a complex change in vendors. I don't worry about the outcome because I know the process is excellent. And I sure loved seeing a ClearScape crrew starting on our streets mid-morning today. So thank you to all three of you.

Andy, Members don??™t provide feedback because of memos like this. I would ask that you and the committees not to make complaints personal and be open to hear the concerns of our community so we have a more engaging format. Telling members, who pay for these services, they can??™t talk to the workers is against our 1st amendment for free speech. We can all agree this snow removal service is not meeting expectations. How about if you take the lead, make a list of the issues, provide solutions and address the follow-up. Everyone should feel they can submit a complaint without retaliation and that it is being heard and addressed. The committee members are volunteers and signed up to improve the well-being of our community. This includes funneling complaints and providing solutions. Personally, I??™ve shoveled my driveway three times over the last few days so that it??™s safe for visitors and deliveries. The snow yesterday was a ??œcement??? snow. Not safe for anyone to be shoveling. We live community that should be able to come in out of their homes safely. I would suggest that the contract clarify that snow if removed at 2??? regardless if it needs to be cleared multiple times. Waiting for the snow to stop led to several days of dangerous conditions. Robin

What we have right now is completely unacceptable (1/4/2023).  3 days and drive way has not been opened up!
