Nothing happened per say, the home values are a result of that whole Dominion scandal thing where many people got into loans they could not afford due to fast talking salesmen.  The neighborhood went from being full to having about 2dozen homes vacant from people losing their homes.

You can get a killer deal on a house here because of this, however, I'll be honest with you, I wouldn't move here if you plan on leaving in just a few years because the homes that are for sale are not selling.  Many people have tried to sell and took their homes back off the market because they couldn't sell.

The homes are "condos", there is a association fee, I think this has a lot to do with the homes not selling well.

Hi...I am not a resident at Village at Hilliard Green but i live in the general neighborhood and am preparing to purchase a home.  I have driven the area several times and just have a couple questions if anyone cares to help me out :-)

I have 2 sons (ages 8-11) ...are there many children in the neighborhood?  I've seen the park, but always seen to drive through during school hours?

Does the traffic pattern seem to work well...especially with children?  The apartment complex I currently live in is nice, but the drivers go way too fast and there have been several near misses in my opinion since the children all seem to ride their bikes in the parking lots.

Any other general information or hints & tips would be extremely helpful.

Thanks!!

I have children and live in this neighborhood. They frequent the park and enjoy the community with their bikes. Although our yards are small ALOT of homeowners have made the most of their space for their kids to enjoy.

The traffic around the park area has never been unruly. Most homeonwers here recognize the speed limit and obide by it. Every neighborhood is going to have a few bad apples, and ours is limited to small percentages when you take into consideration the large amount of children we do have living here.

I would be careful though about taking posts on this website as fact. TNT seems to have mis-information that they are passing along. For accurate information about the association I would contact VGL the Property management company.

The current housing market is lower than it has ever been. This affects all home values, not just the ones in our neighborhood. Although the Dominion scandal did not help our foreclosure process. TVAHG homes are single family homes in a condominium environment. Slighty different than your standard condo. We are inbetween a condo and a home that is in a HOA. Not as much responsibility as a HOA, but more than a condo.
