No Apologies Necessary

Denise,

It is as I thought it was. I looked in a posting box, no resolution, but there was an agenda which listed a resolution for a contract for Buca. This is an example of how an innocent mistake can be turned by some into political turmoil. Instead of waiting to hear all of the facts some would jump to the conclusion that the sky is falling and the boggie man is out to get you.

The Messenger made a mistake. You read it and rightfully asked a question. I too agree that it would be nice to be able to walk down the street for a nice meal and be able to enjoy the neighborhood on a walk home. A lot would have to change here in our little Village for that to happen.

I am glad to hear that you were able to get an answer from the Mayor. I have been disappointed by the lack of communication from the Mayor and Council about what is going on in the Village. But it is good to see that you got a response. Did the mayor say that he was getting a lot of questions about the Messenger article? Something like that should stir up the residents and the Village Council and Mayor have to answer quickly to prevent it from being spun out of control.

Again, no need to apologize, when I answered I had not seen the article, stuck in an airport in Salt Lake City trying to get home. It does concern me a little about the level of attention that the reporter is paying to what is going on at the meetings. If Buca was coming to Valleyview I would think that would be the headline and not buried 8 pages back.

We can all dream of a Village with little shops and diners to walk to as we sit and watch bicyclists along the paved bike path to the south of the Village bringing people to look in our shops and relax with a cup of coffee or other preferred beverage and watch the world pass by.

Whoa Yourself Ms. White

You didn't accuse anyone?

I quote, ''Knowing how things work in Valleyview it will be a 'friend of a friend'.'' Wink Wink Nudge Nudge, we all know who Ms. White is trying to allude to and even drops a name in the next sentence trying to tie it together. You want to imply that their is corruption with no proof just your allusions. Someone has to be doing bad. No, you did not name a specific person, but you do have the gift of trying to allude to people and make it look like there is a problem.

You even go further to say there has to be, and I quote, ''They will have to rezone for business. There would have to be a request for 'eminent domain'.'' Wanting to imply that the Village will now be taking the land to give to Buca. While I believe the Supreme Court committed a travesty of justice giving municipalities the right to take land for development to get a higher tax base, the Ohio Legislature placed a moratorium on eminent domain and the property owners are currenly protected.

And then, to scare the reader you go on to say, ''Be careful, they might decide they want your house!'', to try and tell the reader that if they fight back or raise their voice they may go after them for their house. Classic Irene White. If there is smoke there must be fire and it will have to had been started by someone who had something against her.

If you have anything showing that I said you stole money please produce it. I can only speak for myself and will not defend what others alledgedly said. I never once claimed that you stole any money. I did ask where the $79,000 went from the Village funds while you served on Council. An answer was never provided by you or the other members on Council at that time. I also made statements that is was my opinion that you and the others were stuffing your pockets with the money of the Village by receiving bloated salaries, which you were entitled to under the ordinances of the Village, but I thought if you and the others truely cared about the Village you would waive some of that salary and not run it up with every special meeting the Mayor and Council held.

I am afraid that I have nothing to say about Russolillo and who the ''permit pusher'' you are referring too. I never attended any meetings on the barn and I even signed a petition that stated the construction of the barn should meet the zoning codes of the Village. Turns out the Village had repealed the zoning codes and here we are over five years later and there are still no zoning codes to prevent the next barn from being built.

If you know what Watkins did then say it and take your chances on slandering someone. I do not know what he did or did not do on his last jobs. What I do know is that I had to choose between three candidates for the job of Mayor and of the choices I had available I felt (and still feel) that he was the best person for the job.

Play a little CSI and get your shovel out and dig up those bodies. Maybe now with the Democrats in control of Ohio's Executive Branch you may get some satisfaction.
We're on the same page

When I spoke with the Mayor he did say that he was returning alot of phone calls. I'm glad that someone besides me read the article. When I spoke to some of my neighbors they didn't see it. I didn't think with the swimming pool and dairy mart being a business that it would have to be rezoned. I'm going to pay closer attention to the posting box's from now on and read.
