Village Of Valleyview

At the Monday, April 3rd Meeting the Village Council voted to accept the resignation of Councilman John Shaw.

Councilman Shaw's letter did not give a reason for his resignation, only that it was effective April 1st.

The Village Council has set Tuesday April 11th as the deadline for residents to submit a letter of interest or resume to the Village Hall to be considered for the unexpired term of the seat which runs through December 31, 2007.

A special council meeting will be held on Thursday April 13th at 6pm at the Village Hall for the Council to vote on filling the seat. If anyone has any questions please contact a member of Council or the Mayor. The phone number to the Village Hall is 279-5630.

Councilman Shaw will be missed and I personally want to thank him for his service to the Village. Councilman Shaw was implemental in getting Keep Valleyview Beautiful started and running for the past two years. He also played a role in helping to get the finances of the Village straightened out and set on the right path.

Thank You John for your hard work and dedication to the Village.

Sad Day for Valleyview

I am sorry to hear that John gave up and quit.

The residents who have a seat on council finally admit they have a conscience but quit and refuse to tell the truth of why.

John's dad told me what happened when he was on council and why he quit. He gave up too instead of fighting for the residents. I like both men but people cannot keep giving up.

I am not there anymore, but am not giving up on the residents. What has been done is a crime. It will be proven.

When I wrote about how John Hellwege conducts his business, Paul Parrish wouldn't even commit on it. It is illegal. You see whose side he is on.

Parrish didn't even check out Watkins before slandering me and backing Watkins. You see who he supports.

Look who you have left on Council and as mayor.

Can Only Comment On What I Know

Ms. White you want me to comment on matters which I have no knowledge. I have no professional dealings with Mr. Hellwege. I cannot comment on his business or his business practices.

I will ask if you checked the surrounding counties for those addresses as Mr. Hellwege does sell properties in other counties than Franklin County. Are you sure that you have all the facts?

As to what Mr. Hellwege does, he does not serve on Council, never has, and what he wants does not matter. The Council makes the decisions, not Mr. Hellwege.

When I supported a candidate for the office of Mayor I supported the person who I felt would be best for the Village of Valleyview. I had three choices, and Mr. Watkins was the best choice for the Village from among the three.

Things have gotten done in the Village and a Police Department is working again. With the other two candidates I do not believe that the Village would be as far along as it it now if one of the other two had won.

The Village Residents voted and Mr. Watkins won with 66% of the vote. That would seem to be a clear message as to how the voters felt about their choices as well.

As to who the residents have on Council, there were only three people to run for four seats on Council in November. The Council had to meet twice in December to find a person who was interested in serving on Council when Councilwoman Davis resigned. There seems to be a lack of interest among the residents in what is going on and serving the Village.

It would appear that the Residents have what they wanted or what they are comfortable with. Attendance at Council Meetings is nearly non-existent. Coverage by the Westside Messenger is spotty at best because they do not have enough reporters, and the Council has decided to put out less information by cutting the number of newsletters sent out.

Residents have the choice to be informed, they only have to attend a Council Meeting.

Unless the boundries of Franklin County have changed and didn't tell the County Auditor and Treasurer, these are the facts.

Most of the westside is 43204, maybe Paul should check to see if he is still in Franklin County.

When he has the FACTS he still upholds the corrupt. What does this say about his character?

He supported Watkins without checking his credentials. Watkins didn't even tell the truth about his education and employment history. Why would he want to hide this? How can you believe anything he says?

I have told you why residents don't attend council meetings.

You have Anne Marks on council, so you don't need Hellwege ! She was against the residents for years and you put her on council. You have short memories.

You don't even care if you have a thief and drug user on a council.

Parrish should practice what he preaches.
