OUR FIRST "Beautiful Yard/Holiday Decor Contest". UPDATE !!! WE HAVE A WINNER - 2502 Sommeral! They were chosen by the judges because of the matching decor that evoked a 'cottage holiday home'. Honestly there were so many really gorgeous homes that it was hard to pick! We have a suggestion to do another yard recognition award this spring so look for the sign!
That means that the family that has put the most effort into a gorgeous yard with great holiday decor will receive a $100 gift certificate from Home Depot! Of course Board members can't participate. We have two neighborhood judges, Anna DelBarrio and Danny Rosengard. Once the winner is selected on December 23rd, a congratulatory sign will be placed in the winner's yard in recognition of their efforts to make our neighborhood a showplace. So have fun with this & send any comments to us that you have!
HOPE YOU ENJOY our HOLIDAY LIGHTING THIS YEAR. Suggestions are always welcome. Remember to be vigilant regarding people who are in our neighborhood and should not be; three of our wreaths were stolen at a replacement cost to our association of $300!
NO dues increase for 2010.
GOOD NEIGHBOR PROGRAM- Unfortunately only 14 families responded and SAPD asks that at least 50% of the residents participate. Therefore we will not be moving forward with this crime prevention initiative.
IMPROVEMENTS - You may notice three new garden areas that now flank our recreation center parking lot. We will expand plantings in the spring. Also rye grass is being planted, although a bit late this year, in order to green up our entry way. AND we are accepting bids to repair/replace our irrigation system which is old and not working properly. This is a must for next summer and will be a fairly expensive cost to the HOA.
We also have a new Board member: Susan Monnin who replaces Marsha Pruss as Administrator. Susan is very active in our community and has had experience managing commericial property - our volunteers are very special as they participate using their own time and energy to help make our neighborhood better.
Have a great Holiday, Christmas, Hanukkah!
