ANNUAL HOA MEETING: May 20th at 6:30 in our rec center. Food and drink will be provided by the association. In addition to important news we will award a "Best Spring Yard" prize of a $100 gift certificate from either Lowes or Home Depot. If we don't have at least 40 people we can't finalize any votes. So please show up, OR provide a signed proxy to me or to someone attending. Blue Star Armor Service will give us a brief perspective of what they have observed while patroling in our neighborhood. We will also present, at resident's request, costs and issues associated with a camera surveilance system.
Fences: Several residents' fences are looking very worn and may be in need of stain. If staining, we recommend fence stain : Olympic Maximum exterior stain in Cedar Naturaltone/or a brand and stain color that matches this. Do NOT paint your fence with regular paint OR match your fence to the color of your home. There are a few homes that have red or dark brown, white fences at the moment that make the fences appear as a patchwork. We would like the neighborhood to at least appear consistent and fences well-maintained.
Worthington/Redbridge culvert: Believe it or not we have an actual city permit to construct our fence and finally close off this dangerous open drainage ditch/throughway to pedestrain traffic. As of April 18th we have a completed fence; the gate will be locked shortly thereby securing this area of the neighborhood. The only access to this lock with be by emergency through CPS. Blue Star Armored Car has been patrolling for almost three months. They are very responsive and whether it is coincidence or not we haven't had the problems we had in Nov/Dec.
A new garden was planted which is right in front of the center gates as you enter. We removed some scrubby bushes, and planted a variety of flowering plants including rose bushes!
Our sprinkler system is old and misses about 1/3 of the landscaped areas. We selected Horton to redo our system; construction started April 27th!!! This is to overhaul our 15 year old system before it gets HOT.
We will be painting our fence/poles around the tennis courts as we did not do that last year.
We raised the hadicap sign in the rec parking lot; it was not regulation and was so low we were worried kids could get hurt.
Installed a heavy link chain and padlock to secure that area behind the basketball court. Not a good place at night!
We will be cleaning our streets and ridding them of grass growing in the cracks.
MOW-EDGE-WEED AND PAINT THOSE FENCES - neutral Olympic Wood Stain or similar only please.
If you don't have the rec area gate codes or tennis gate codes, please let me know.
