MAY 20th 2010 HOA MEETING and other UPDATES

Our Annual May HOA meeting was held Thursday May 20th with more than enough attendees for a quorum. While official minutes will be sent via AMS, here is a recap. This was a really great meeting with wine, cheese, snacks, fruit etc.  In addition,  we used a microphone so that everyone could easily hear, and were provided safety tips from Blue Armor. 

Minutes of last year were approved and budget discussed.  One resident voiced concern over spending; however, it was explained that since little repair or improvements have been made over the years, we are in 'catch up' mode and are well within our expected expenses.  Virtually all attendees were very pleased with neighborhood improvements:

5-2009 to 4-2010:  Replaced trees lost years ago, installed 3 new gardens, installed hose bibs to allow hand watering, refinished both BB and Tennis courts, painted all gates & fences (except tennis court fence),started pay on-line, installed metal security fence over culvert at Worthington/Redbridge, hired security patrols, held several neighborhood events and awarded a holiday decor gift certificate!!!.

5-2010 to 4-2011:  Projects are either in the works or planned.  Installed new rose garden at front entrance, replaced our 15 year old sprinkler system, pending signature on contract to provide camera surveillance at our entry/exit gate, replace our message board with a model more in keeping with our asthetics, replace speed bump that exists with new speed hump, voted to delay any further speed bumps, awarded a gift certificate to the Best Spring Yard, 2551 Ashton Village Dr!!!

Received a bid to repaint our tennis court fence. Next community event will be the July 4th celebration.

SPECIAL NOTE:  As of May 25th, we have received our  gate police report and claim filed for insurance.  Gate should be up soon; it is so damaged by a speeding driver, it has to be replaced including all electronics and several surrounding trees..
