PRESS RELEASE
October 9, 2007
On October 7, 2007 (Sunday) at approximately 4:18 p.m., the Keller Police Department received reports of possible sexual assaults of children who were attending a party at a residence. Parents of pre-school aged girls reported the possibility of inappropriate touching of their daughters while attending a party in the 8700 block of Buckner in Keller, Texas.
The initial investigation revealed the suspect has two functioning locomotives on his property that run on a track approximately a quarter of a mile in length. The suspect arranges birthday parties for children on his property which last approximately two hours and includes train rides. On the day of the allegation the suspect rode the train with children and during the train ride the victim indicated the inappropriate touching occurred.
Forensic interviews with the victims were conducted and with the admission from the suspect an arrest warrant was issued for 65 year old, Clinton Don Simpson of Keller. The arrest warrant was issued for two counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a child under 14 years of age. The bond has been set at $75,000.00 each.
The police department was informed by a family member that Mr. Simpson has been hospitalized, but we have not been able to confirm this statement. We are in contact with his attorney and it is our intention to have him in custody today.
The City of Keller is notifying the homeowner(s) to cease operation of the locomotives, because it is in violation of the Unified Development Code.
The Police believe there may be more victims; therefore, we are offering assistance to any parents who have any concerns that their child may have had inappropriate contact with Mr. Simpson. Parent-driven inquisitions may harm the case. If a parent needs to know how to ask their child if they were inappropriately touched the parent should contact Lt. Lane at (817) 743-4581.
The offense is a First Degree Felony which carries 5 to 99 years or life in prison and/or a $10,000.00 fine.
