Our Neighborhood consists of 150 single-family townhomes, built in 1987. We are fortunate to live so close to so many amenitites, such as Publix and Food Lion, Blockbuster Video, Walgreens Drug Store, and a Regional Park right across Monument. We also have, within walking distance, several restaraunts, hair salons, and a mailing center.
We have always experienced a "small town" feeling here....and we love the neighborhood! Our subdivision boasts many families with small children, young couples just starting out, and elderly people. We have a network of good neighbors and it is nice to get together once a month. Please join us!
The Villas of Cobblestone Neighborhood Association was founded on May 23, 2000 by 13 concerned residents. So far, we have accomplished two clean up efforts, in conjunction with Clean It Up, Green It Up Jacksonville. We have had the Sheriff walk our neighborhood and have joined forces with Shadco (Sheriff's Advisory Council).
We are in the process of establishing a Neighborhood Watch Program. We are working on beautifying the area and we are hoping to apply for the Mayor's Neighborhood Matching Grant next summer.
Officers were elected in a June meeting and are as follows:
President - Arland Eyl
Vice President - Elaine Bedell
Secretary - Heidi Crystal
Treasurer - Laurie Kirkland
Atchitectural Planning - Richard Layton, Brenda Layton and J.C. Woodall
Dues were set at $50 annually, to be paid in two installments.
We're back!
Good News! We have received our matching grant and will soon have a beautiful new entrance sign.
More to come.
