June 1, 2002 ?– Clean It Up Jacksonville Day
Come join us on June 1st for Clean it up Jacksonville Day sponsored by the City of Jacksonville. We will be meeting at 8:00 a.m. at the vacant lot on Cobblewood Lane North to join in and keep our neighborhood clean. Garbage bags, Lawn Mowers and other equipment will be available. Please feel free to bring yours too! Let?’s work together to keep our neighborhood looking good!

June 14, 2002 ?– Neighborhood Cookout
Yum! Yum! The Association is sponsoring an old fashioned meet your neighbor cook out on June 14th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at the vacant lot on Cobblewood Lane North. Hot dogs and sides will be furnished along with soft drinks. If you?’d like to bring a dessert it will be appreciated. Come on out and meet your neighbors! For more information contact Laurie Martin at 565-2850.

July 13, 2002 ?– Association Meeting
The association will be holding its general meeting July 13, 2002 at 9:30 a.m. at the Watson Realty Building on Monument Road.

Dues are due now. Make checks payable to Villas of Cobblestone Association. Checks can be mailed or delivered to our treasurer Laurie Kirkland at 3005 Cobblewood Lane East, Jacksonville, FL 32225. $25.00 for 6 months or $50.00 for the year.

05/18/02 Minutes
Meeting held at Watson Realty on Monument Road.
Start: 9:30 a.m.
Main Signs ?– It was discussed that the entrance signs to Cobblestone have been cleaned and also Neighborhood Watch and No Soliciting signs have been added.

Villas of Cobblestone Entrance Sign ?– Has been ordered. Materials are back ordered at this time. The $1200.00 deposit has been paid and the remaining balance will be paid upon completion.
Second entrance sign will be cleaned and re-painted by the Association.

Landscaping designs for the sign were also distributed. There will be approximately $500.00 for the landscaping of both signs. Elaine Bedell will be purchasing plants and meeting with landscape soon. It was suggested that the Manager of Wal-Mart be contacted to enquire about donating plants. Erin Schmidt to set up meeting.

Treasurer?’s Report. None given at this meeting. Treasurer absent.

Volunteer Hours ?– At this time we have about 100 hours. There is a report submitted to the City quarterly. Any hours completed need to be recorded. This would include Landscaping, painting signs and garage doors, etc. Report hours work to Arland Ayl ?– President.

Volunteer Project ?– Clean it Up Jacksonville ?– Association members to participate. June 1, 2002. Will meet in vacant lot on Cobblewood Lane North. Arland Ayl to pick up package of goods from the City. Member to bring lawn equipment.

Parking ?– Still a problem in the neighborhood. Speeding also a problem. Speed Bumps were discussed. J.C. will look into cost. Also Elaine to check with City for permission.

Architectural Control Committee ?– Jim Walters gave report. Committee walked the neighborhood and made notes of homes in need of repair. A letter will be drafted and mailed to home owners. Also discussed ?“Paint The Town?” This is the City?’s project ?– it is held only once a year and a lien is put against the home ?– lien could be up to $10000.00.

Bi-Laws and Covenants - Handed out to those members requesting copies.

Membership ?– Discussion on how to gain new members. Ideas such as Word of Mouth, Newsletter, Welcoming Committee, Highlight Owner Responsibility to Renters, and Quarterly Block Parties were discussed. It was decided to hold a Block Party along with continuing Newsletter. A welcome package will be considered as well. There will also be a Block Captain Meeting and boundaries given out. Laurie Martin to coordinate and act as Block Captain Leader.

Neighborhood Cookout - To be held June 14, 2002 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. Hot Dogs to be served. Erin Schmidt to speak with Grocery Stores for donations. Laurie Martin to coordinate as ?“Block Captain Leaders?”

Garbage Not being emptied ?– The construction dumpster in back of Publix has been full and not emptied for over two months. Erin Schmidt to speak with Publix manager.

Next Meeting ?– June 1st and 14th will be considered as June meetings. July meeting set for 7/13/02 at 9:30 a.m. To be held at the Watson Realty Bldg.
