Wow! What an amazing block party we had! The rain managed to hold off until 9:00, which was really all we could ask for. The DJ was great, the pig was delicious, and a good time was had by all.

We gave away nearly thirty prizes, most of which were donated by neighborhood businesses such as Beef O'Brady's, Drug Mart, Pizza Hut, Pro Care and Bed Bath & Beyond. A big thank you goes out to all of those business owners who make our community the wonderful place it is.

Also, a special thanks to the eight homeowners who allowed us to block of their driveways and use their yards for the party.

We had games, contests, a balloon-art guy, and a visit from the Violet Township firefighters, who took the time to let our children climb all over the fire trucks.

Over forty households were represented at this year's block party. If you weren't there, you missed out on a great time -- we really hope to see you next year!
