In the early 1970's there was a grassroots effort to save the neighborhood of West Indianapolis from being wiped off the map. Those brave souls that started this organization did the best that they could for this neighborhood but the big Corporations won out, but this did not deter those involved they wanted commitment from the big corporations that they would not pillage the
neighborhood and leave it a ghost town. This sparked an interest in this neighborhood that has kept burning in the heart and souls of these brave new volunteers who are just as committed as those before were.
We have new challenges but they are important to keep this area viable and a safe place to live, work and play.
To quote a famous man who embodied the volunteer spirit, "Ask not what your country (community)can do for you, but what you can do for your country (community)" JFK
