4.Traffic – 1 way, 2 way, Traffic Lights Jessica McCarty updated all on the work she has done to curb speeding semis and inappropriate traffic through contacts with Rep. Reginald Meeks and the KY Legislative Research Commission, Public Works, Donna Sanders who works for Councilman Unseld and others. Unfortunately, no one really wants to slow traffic via changing the lighting sequence or re-route overweight semis traveling to the 15th street industrial district.
Several of our neighbors have had damage to cars, property, and buildings (plaster cracks) due to the large trucks and semis traveling on St Catherine, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th streets and Garvin Place. Jessica has put a letter together for each home owner to forward to Ted Pullen, Director of Public Works, and Donna Sanders, Assistant to Councilman Unseld letting them know about the annoyance. The letter is attached with the notes. Their e-mail addresses are ted.pullen@louisvilleky.gov-donna.sanders@louisvilleky.gov
•We also discussed a civil protest against the truck traffic in July and invite local and state media
5.Block Party: The idea of the block party is to get interested neighbors together to discuss enhancements to the neighborhood and how to achieve them. Grill hot dogs, chips, beverages, Live Music from one of our neighbor’s bands. The suggested date for the Block Party is Sunday, June 15th. The location is Garvin Place between Zane and St. Catherine.
