Commrc'l Prosperity/Resid. Livab

It has come to our awareness in the Arnada neighborhood, that the WAC 173-60 Maximum Environmental Noise Levels, have been abolised by the City of Vancouver several years ago. There is no help to curb excessive noise, hours of noise or continuous noise disturbance without these codes.. The county uses them and help many people.
Also, it appears zoning lines, in particular lines between commercial and residential properties, have been left to chance the type of neighbors who move in. The code enforcement codes contain no protection rulings for 'R'esidential. The 'C'ommercial have little they are required to honor, the rules do not apply to change of use- mainly new conversions & building. There are no business standards established as to rules of conduct of businesses, their employees and activities around residential areas. Our harmony is in jeopardy- our rights are being flattened under the rights of employees and businesses, except by the owners consideration.
We need to try and readopt the WAC's for noise protections- if we are affected by loud noise- we may then have some recourse; it also establishes levels and duration of heat pumps & equipment, and hours of business, when abutting residential properties. This affects all city residents.. get involved.
