Ordinance
The ordinance covering cars allowed at any single address is: one car per licensed driver plus one. Is there any talking to the landlord or the renters? Sometimes that path can be the most useful. Otherwise, you can contact the councilperson's office, your neighborhood association -- East Washington Park, or contact Public Works and ask to whom you might make a complaint. Good luck!

If this is the law, then listen to this story and then call the cops because I am breaking the law. I have lived in this neighborhood for 8 years and read this board for at least 3. My son has a different name than I, I chose to give him the last name of my wifes family since it was a dying name and mine will go on, my wife kept her name when we got married. I have a step son from my wifes previous marriage living with us. He has a different last name. So, one family 4 people 3 different last names...I dare you to throw me out of my home.

Are you a renter?
Are you a renter, or just an unsuspecting homeowner who has invested in property. If your SON and WIFE are not related, to you, then you MAY have a problem. If you are all related (other than in your hearts), THEN THERE IS NO PROBLEM. Why is that so offensive to you or difficult to understand? The law is not designed to break up families, but to protect this community from becoming a transient, dormitory type community. When renters treat the neighborhood like a college or apartment area, it does not bode well for families or property value. WISE UP!! Make choices that are appropriate and lose the mean attitude.
