Mar 17, 2006

WASHINGTON PARK ENHANCEMENT AND PRESERVATION
COUNCIL MEETING
P O BOX 1233
Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33311

March 2, 2006

Our meeting was called to order at 7:05pm by Yvonne. We opened with the Lord?’s Prayer. Yvonne gave the roll call. Elton Marshall, Idella Wright and Julia Porter present. James Ross was absent due to illness. We read the minutes from February 2, 2006. Elton made a motion to accept the minutes as written. Idella seconded the motion and we voted unanimously accepted the minutes.

Yvonne questioned if we had checked on the signs restricting mobile food dispensing vehicles from our Neighborhood. Julia said there is one on NW 8th Street and NW 27th Avenue. One on NW 8th Court and NW 31st Avenue (it is facing North). Last weekend a resident had a Repast at their home that lasted two days. There was loud music, trash and cars parked everywhere.

Idella said she saw on Help me Howard a person needing help getting the branches removed from the canal. There was a dispute over the branches if they were a result of Hurricane Wilma or if the resident put the branches in the canal.

Yvonne will contact Chief Jarboe to see who replaced Lt. Fleming for our Neighborhood. We are still having problems with Tractor Trailer parking in our Neighborhood and with loud music. We have noticed less presence of Broward Sheriff Deputies. We know that the Annexation of Saint George and West ken Lark has affected this. Someone has cars parked for sale between NW 28th Avenue and NW 29th Avenue of NW 6th Street.

Verna Lattimore at 2845 NW 9th Street questioned what type of fence she could put around her property. She has problems with people walking through her yard and trash. Yvonne explained what was acceptable according to our Neighborhood Enhancement and Preservation Plan.

Public meeting closed at 7:45pm

Julia provided information about Robert?’s Rule. Our Rules & Procedures For our Council are in line with Robert?’s Rule.

Elton Marshall motioned to elect Yvonne Sumlin President. Idella seconded the motion. We voted and unanimously elected Yvonne. Julia motioned to elect Elton Marshall Vice President.
