HELPFUL HINTS...
TO AID THE MECHANICAL DEPT.

1.Plans should be complete and compatible with all the required calculations, including energy calculations, A/C load calculations, A/C duct static pressure calculations, A/C plans, equipment specifications, etc.
2. Plans should contain all required and relevant information.
3. Detailed duct layout.
4. Required piping sizes, condensation drains and point of termination.

5. Include information for outdoor air requirements.

6. Commercial buildings must comply with South Florida Building Code Chapter 51 for Smoke Evacuation, to include the correct data and calculations.

7. Restaurants must include information for kitchen hood and all the equipment under the hood, including drawings in compliance with
NFPA?’96.

8. Roof top equipment must include engineering calculations for tie down, as well as zoning requirements for screening.
Ensure that all non-local architects and engineers are designing in accord with the South Florida Building Code (Broward edition) requirements.
