The We Care Neighborhood Association was established in April of 2000, in an Indianapolis Westside community. Since the beginning of the Association the boundaries have been expanded three times to meet the needs and desires of the residents that live in the area. Our boundaries now include the area south of Washington Street to Oliver Avenue, and east from Belmont Avenue to west at Tibbs Avenue and Rockville Road.
We also now cover the area called The Bottoms, south of the Conrail tracks to I-70 south, from Warman Ave. east, to Eagle Creek on the west.
Our main objective for forming this association was to unite the residents that live in the neighborhood, the business owners, and those that work within our association boundaries, so that we may better understand one another’s wants, needs and concerns.
Projected goals are to initiate and coordinate different projects and events in the community that would meet the needs and desires of the groups of people that live and work within our boundaries. Also to open up a line of communication and information services for the people that in all essentiality will be the backbone for all accomplishments for the community. By working together, we hope to make this a cleaner, safer and more desirable neighborhood in which to live, raise our children and work in.
In accomplishing some of the needed goals of this neighborhood we would bring back that pride that residents once had and be able to say;
WE’RE FROM THE WESTSIDE, AND WE’RE PROUD OF IT!
