Does anyone on this site have children attending Oak Grove?  If yes, can you giveme your honest opinion about the school?  Also, which HEB do you use and what do you think of it?  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I have 3 children who attend Oak Grove & its a toss up about the school.  They do tend to be very anal about the small stuff.  Like 4 weeks to the last day of school one of my children couldn't find his bus pass & he has been riding the same bus all year & for the past 3yrs the teacher wouldn't let him ride the bus home with his brothers.  Stupid stuff like that.  I think every parent has a different opinion about the school.  This past year we did have a new principal & I can say if I had any concerns & the teachers didn't respond Mrs. Folkes did call me & make an appt to discuss how I wanted it resolved.   Two of my kids are in the dyslexia program & also in speech.  They really do help & I was able to pick the teachers I wanted for them for this next year.  You are always going to find things you like or dislike but I think all in all its a good school there are always some teachers who aren't the best.  But in the past 3 yrs with 3 kids this year was the first time I didn't agree with one of there teachers.  Every year though they always start off with not enough teachers & have to shift the kids around within that first 9 weeks of school but that could be a district thing not a Oak Grove problem only....  They do offer after school tutoring for those kids in 3rd - 5th that need extra help so they can pass the TAKS....  Hope this helps....

It depends if we have to, we go the HEB @ Nacogdoches & Thousand Oaks but we perfer going to S Walmart off Austin Hwy...  Its cleaner & bigger the HEB's over  here seems to be small unless you want to drive to Nacogdoches & O'Connor...

Every school has little quirks. Oak Grove is honestly a good school. Both my children were transfers a few years back and they quickly came to enjoy their teachers and staff.  As far as HEBs are concerned, with the never ending construction on Nacogdoches @410, I find myself going shopping at Thousand Oaks@ Perrin Beitel during the day.  Atmoshpere is pleasant and employees are very helpful. If its a prescription, I will fight my way through traffic to the HEB @ Nacogdoches & New Braunfels simply cause I hate the hassel of transferrring meds, etc. Call me lazy...I prefer the Nacogdoches & New Braunfels though.  All could have been avoided though if they kept and updated the HEB that was in the shopping center near MAC. I miss that old store
