Hi folks,
I would like to connect with anyone interested in lobbying the city to place speed bumps on Ridge Post Drive.
Since the speed bumps were placed on the surrounding streets, we have become a shortcut for drivers that just want to go fast and avoid speed bumps. I believe we have too many children playing on the sidewalks for this to continue.
We also have a lot of children that ride bikes or skateboards. We have a few that play football or basketball as well, and naturally sometimes one of them has to retrieve the ball from the street, or inadvertently runs out into the street. It is only a matter of time until one of our kids gets hurt or killed by a high-speed driver.
Backing out of your own driveway has become a dangerous sport all by itself. I live near a corner, and routinely see cars speeding as they turn the corner, flying down Ridge Post so fast their tires are squealing. The last I heard, the San Antonio PD doesn?’t want to clock speeders on this street ?“because they don?’t want to offend anyone?”.
