Well I certainly didn't nickname you that, but if you ask me it fits. Yes I liked that guy's post, obviously he knows what he is talking about and maybe you ought to listen to him!!

Didn't answer

the entire question. We will look more into the comp issue, but what about the self appointment to county commissioners?

And you continue to dodge the questions about the 2 feasability studies.

To BBW..salaries

BBW; Good morning. First, I have to make this blatant statement. I find the salaries of council/mayor to be a disgrace; and any one who finds this as an acceptable standard is working in the 1974 dollars when the charter was created.
I suggest that the ordinance to the city charter be amended to reflect the socio-economic conditions of today's environment; and personally, I would totally support this.
To have the limitation that anyone in office (also continuing in office through re-election) is beyond conception. Perhaps a term limit could be added to reflect that salary considerations be reveiwed every three or five years.

Anyone who works an additional 15-20 hours per week; has to spend additional hours to learn the details of the position; and thinks this is noble; I question if they have a basic need of of personal punishment in satisfying their personal goals in life. This is not to take away from the service they provide; this is to say; do a reality check. I suspect the majority of this town do not know council pay; and would be embarrassed to be with the reality of the situation. At minimum I would recommend that council/mayor be compensated a minimum $1800 a month (It is at least minimum wage; and more monies are available at fast food); I would even support $3000 a month for the value of the position. I fail to see the distinction between mayor/council because the mayor only has voting power in case of a tie. At any rate the demands of our council are great and the sacrifice to family is even greater.

I recommend this be effective Nov. 1, 1999, if it cannot be complete by that time period, make it retroactive to Nov. 1, 1999 WITHOUT regard to term restrictions (No one on that council deserves less; all have been in position at least two years and should not be punished due to previous service or continuing service). Find someone to present the issue; write the ordinance and bring financial respect to the position of mayor/councilperson in Broomfield. And, this one, doesn't have to be in the paper. If anyone disagrees, I will stand up for council.
