Industry Vs Open Space

I feel glad about the new high tech businesses moving into our area (at Interlocken & Westmoore)- they mean better career oportunities for me and my offspring. But I am also aware of how the infrastucture for that industry may in many ways deteriate our quality of life. (More people, roads, traffic, buildings, air and sound polution, etc. - Less openspace, wildlife, etc.)

Would any of you care to share general philosophies about these matters. I realize it is an age old question, but I'd like to hear some thoughts on it anyway. What is your opinion of the PERFECT balance? Can industry exist/thrive without causing a decline in quality of life?

For BRF2

I was at the meeting where citizens focused on the Northwest Parkway. They said they wanted it.

Why CVELG Is Wrong - Reason #1

CVELG says this is no longer about the jail. Yet, CVELG's members have said and continue to say if Broomfield no longer has county status, Broomfield won't build the jail. CVELG's members have also stated that the jail will never open its doors. The basis of CVELG's actions is the jail. It is wrong for CVELG to want to throw off Broomfield's county status because of the jail decision.

Why CVELG Is Wrong - Reason #2

CVELG asserts that Broomfield was unethical in its jail decision because Broomfield would not listen to Countryside's residents. The truth is that Broomfield did listen to Countryside's residents. They said a jail 1/2 mile away from them was too close. Broomfield moved the jail location to a site 11/2 miles away from Countryside. It is wrong for CVELG to say that Broomfield did not listen to Countryside's residents.
