Westminster Progressive Neighbors

New Middle School??

Posted in: Country Side
My husband and I are Countryside residents with children in Elementary school. We witnessed Westminster City Councils insensitivity toward our neighborhood as Broomfield built their jail. Thanks! Now we are seeing how the council feels about kids in our neighborhood. I'm referring to the proposed middle school at 100th and Simms. It makes me sick to see John Carpenter talk of Open Space as being for the ?“entire city?” when the city is quietly selling its Open Space to the highest bidder and allowing unrestricted building. Where are these kids going to be taught?? How can Westminster claim our kids are out greatest asset when the city can?’t provide a school to learn in?? Mr. Carpenter should not be allowed to speak of solutions if he can?’t give details. Confidentiality-another way to say Countryside residents can?’t deal with facts.
I guess as long as Walnut Creek residents are complaining and WCC can?’t see a way to make a ?“profit?” the idea of putting in a new school or taking care of worn out roads, will NEVER be a WCC priority!
