  • Respect-O-Meter: Valued Neighbor

Several things I have observed:

Recyclables being tossed in the trash (cardboard, bottles, cans)

    Solution: use the blue bin

Trash discarded in the roadway

Solution: show some respect and dispose of properly

clean up after a party or event

Used oil and automotive fluids sitting out in open containers

Solution: take the used fluids to the auto parts store for recycling

Failure to maintain a clean litter free yard.

Solution: show respect for your neighbors, bend over and pick up what falls    and dispose of it properly.

Dogs running loose

Solution: keep your pet safe and walk on a leash when the concrete is cool. (they are barefoot)

Dog feces in yards

Solution: be considerate of neighbors and prevent health issues by cleaning up after your four legged friend(s)

Contractors and businesses filling residential dumpsters

Solution: take a photo of the person, action, vehicle markings, and if possible license plate and report to City of Phoenix. Commercial entities should not be using dumpsters paid for by the residents, they should be paying their own disposal fees.

Water discharging into street from a back yard (draining a pool)

Solution: Discharge pool water into the sanitary sewer clean out or water your yard. Remember, only rain in the storm drain. Water going into the storm drains is not treated, waste water is treated.
