CRIME REPORT; 09-06-10

  Good morning!!!!!  Here are a few examples of the calls over the weekend.   Officer Becker stopped a vehicle at ES 11th and Judge Ely.  The driver, a 33 year old male, was intoxicated and was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.  He had a prior conviction for DWI.   Officer Joeris responded to a disturbance call in the 1300 block of Sunset.  During the investigation, an 18 year old male was found to be in possession of a handgun and was arrested for Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon.   Officer Walker stopped a vehicle in the 4400 block of Ridgemont.  The driver, a 28 year old male, was intoxicated and was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.   Over the weekend, a DWI No Refusal program was conducted.  A total of seven (7) people were arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.  Since January 1st, there has been 460 DWI incidents in Abilene.   For the Abilene Police Department, this is Sgt Keith Shackleford.

CRIME REPORT; 09-07-10

      Good morning!!!!  Here are some examples of the calls for the last twenty four hours.   Officer Craft responded to a vehicle burglary call in the 2100 block of Amy Lyn.  The victim stated someone had smashed a window on the victim's vehicle and had taken a cell phone, an I-pod, and money.  A report was worked for Burglary of a Motor Vehicle.   Officer Bryan responded to a check welfare call in the 1500 block of South Treadaway.  Officer Bryan contacted a 47 year old female who was walking in the roadway.  The subject was very intoxicated.  She was also found to be in possession of marijuana and was arrested.   Finally, Officer Volirakis responded to a residential burglary call in the 2200 block of Glenwood.  The victim stated someone had entered the residence through an open garage door and an unlocked door to the residence.  Various items were taken from the residence and a Burglary of a Habitation report was worked.   For the Abilene Police Department, this is Sgt Keith Shackleford.

CRIME REPORT; 09-08-10

    Good morning!!!!!  Here are some examples of the calls for the last twenty four hours.   Officer Perez responded to a residential burglary call in the 3100 block of S. 12th.  The victim stated an unknown subject had pried open a window and entered the residence.  Once inside, the suspect took various items and ransacked the residence.  The victim's loss was estimated at approximately $900.  A report was worked for Burglary of a Habitation.   Officer Allen responded to a residential burglary call in the 1500 block of N. Willis.  The victim stated an unknown subject entered the residence through an unlocked sliding glass door and took various electronic and entertainment items.  We have seen several of these calls in the last few weeks, where a suspect makes entry through an unlocked sliding glass door.  Make sure to lock your doors and, if possible, use supplementary locking devices as well.   Finally, Officer Walker responded to a disturbance call in the 700 block of N. 13th.  Officer Walker contacted a 45 year old male who had previously been warned to stay away from the location.  The subject was arrested for Criminal Trespass.   For the Abilene Police Department, this is Sgt Keith Shackleford.

CRIME REPORT; 09-09-10

    Good morning!!!!!  Here are a few examples of the calls for the last twenty four hours.   Officer Ruiz responded to a residential burglary call in the 2000 block of Woodard.  The victim stated an unknown subject had entered the residence through an unlocked rear door.  The suspect took various electronic items and weapons.  A report was worked for Burglary of a Habitation.   Officer Hutchinson stopped a vehicle in the 1200 block of Plum.  During the traffic stop, a police K-9 alerted on the vehicle.  During the subsequent investigation, a 24 year old female was found to be in possession of approximately 4.3 grams of crack cocaine and was arrested for first degree felony Delivery of a Controlled Substance.   Officer Brannon responded to a disturbance call in the 1300 block of Sammons.  The victim stated her grandson, a 28 year old male, had pushed her down during an argument and had also taken her money.  The male was arrested for Injury to the Elderly.   For the Abilene Police Department, this is Sgt Keith Shackleford.
