CRIME REPORT; 09-27-10

Good morning!!!!!  Here are a few examples of the calls from the weekend.   Officer Allen responded to a prowler call in the 4000 block of South 7th.  When Officer Allen arrived on scene, he contacted a 32 year old male, who was the ex-boyfriend of the calling party.  The subject ran from Officer Allen but was caught and charged with Evading Arrest and Public Intoxication.   Over the weekend, officers responded to numerous home and car burglaries where the thieves made entry through unlocked doors.  The thieves were also targeting items left in plain site.  In one case, a vehicle was stolen and the keys were left in the vehicle.  You are the first line of defense against the criminal element.  Lock your doors and secure your valuables.  Make it harder for a thief to target you as a victim of crime.   For the Abilene Police Department, this is Sgt Keith Shackleford.
