CRIME REPORT; 10-18-10

    Good morning!!!!  Here are few examples of incidents over the weekend.   Officer Scott responded to a criminal mischief call in the 200 block of North Leggett.  The property owner stated an unknown suspect had attempted to steal a vehicle from the location and had crashed the vehicle into a fence at the location.  Damage to the vehicle and fence were estimated at $6000 and a report was worked for state jail felony criminal mischief.   Officer Shriver stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of Ruidosa.  The driver, a 26 year old female had two outstanding warrants (for cell phone use in a school zone and for displaying an expired license plate) and was arrested.   Finally, officers responded to an address in the 800 block of Vine for possible narcotics involvement.  During the investigation, a 47 year old female was found to be in possession of approximately 3.2 grams of methamphetamine and was arrested.   For the Abilene Police Department, this is Sgt Keith Shackleford.  

CRIME REPORT; 10-19-10

  Good morning!!!!!  Here are some examples of incidents in the last twenty four hours.   Officer Janusz responded to a building burglary call in the 1400 block of South Danville.  Firefighters saw a 28 year old male who entered the fire station without permission and took money from a kitchen countertop.  The suspect fled the scene when the firemen yelled for him to stop.  He was caught and arrested for Burglary of a Building.   Officer Voirakis responded to a drunk driver call in the 5000 block of Highway 277.  The driver, a 26 year old female, was intoxicated and was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.  This incident is the 530th DWI in Abilene since January 1st.   Finally, Officer Villareal responded to a shots fired call in the 4500 block of Don Juan.  Officer Villareal contacted a 43 year old female, a 30 year old male, and a 36 year old male who were attending a party. One subject supplied a handgun and the other two subjects fired shots a fence in the back yard of a residence.  The projectiles went into an occupied building behind the residence.  No injuries were reported.  All three subjects were arrested for third degree felony Deadly Conduct.   For the Abilene Police Department, this is Sgt Keith Shackleford.

CRIME REPORT; 10-20-2010

   

Good Morning! Here are a few of examples of calls answered over the last 24 hours.

 

 

At about 12:55 pm yesterday, Officer McGrew was dispatched to a theft call at a store in the Mall of Abilene. A store employee observed a woman conceal a pair of jeans in her baby stroller and the woman left the store without paying for the jeans. A 20 year old female was arrested for Class “B” Theft.

 

At about 6:43pm, Officer Woods was dispatched to a Theft of a Motor Vehicle call in the 1000 block of E Overland Tr. A man reported that he left his White ’97 Ford PU at the location while he was at work, and when he returned the PU was gone. The PU had an automotive engine in the bed at the time it was stolen. A report was taken for Theft of a Motor Vehicle. Total loss was estimated at $6,000.00.

 

Finally, at about 10:00pm, Officer Allen was dispatched to an alarm call at a car lot located in the 4600 block of N. First St. Upon arrival, Officers observed a man inside the office, attempting to break into a coin operated machine. A 51 year old male was arrested and charged with Burglary of a Building.  

 

CRIME REPORT; 10-21-2010

 

Good Morning! Here are some of examples of calls answered over the last 24 hours.

 

 

At about 1240pm yesterday, Officer Cox was dispatched to a shoplifter call at a south side discount store. Loss prevention personnel had observed an 18 year old Big Spring woman stealing candy. The female was contacted, and further investigation revealed that this female had been contacted over a year ago at the Big Spring affiliate of the same store chain and had advised that trespassing charges would be filed if she was ever found on any properties belonging to this chain. She was arrested and charged with Criminal Trespass.

 

At 2:46 pm, an 89 year old Abilene man reported that he had been approached by a female about cashing a check. The check was an apparent cashier’s check for an amount over $2,400. The victim gave the woman the cash, but when he tried to deposit the check to his account, he was advised that the check was not genuine.  A report was taken for Forgery

 

At about 7:33pm, Officer Peavy was dispatched to the 2500 block of Barrow to assist Officer Aulerich who, in an off duty capacity, had observed a 23 year old male rolling what appeared to be marijuana cigarettes in a car. Officer Peavey contacted the people in the car and found loose marijuana in the floor of the car. This man, who was a passenger in the car was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana.
