If you have not yet had the opportunity to take a look at the Santa Ana Historical Preservation Society?’s latest publication, you are missing a treat. Santa Ana in Vintage Postcards takes you on a tour of the Santa Ana of many yesterdays from the perspective of several hundred postcards covering nearly 100 years. Historic buildings, business districts, residential areas, and civic activities are only a few of the topics covered in postcards that date from the turn of the 20th century on into the 1990s. Some rare postcards showing the 1933 earthquake are also featured.
Postcards featured in the book are from several collections in the city, including Councilman Brent Franklin, former councilman and Wilshire Square resident Rob Richardson, and Wilshire Square residents Nathan and Roberta Reed. The book?’s author is long time SAHPS board member and former Wilshire Square resident Guy Ball.
If you are interested in purchasing a copy of the book, it is available from the Santa Ana Historical Preservation Society for $20 (including tax). Please contact Nathan and Roberta Reed at 953-1976.
