The idea that we can not leave items such as hanging plants on our front porches, or something like a tool lay out while we go inside for a drink witiut havung them stolen is a real sore spot with me.
We have a lot of walking street traffic up and down Ann Arbor Avenue and anythin of value will disappear if it is left out.
I always warn new arrivals that they can not leave their garage doors open while they unload their cars or while working in the back yard .... without a high risk of having items disappear from their garage.
Of course the patrols help a little, but we do need to watch out for each other .... I have caught people two times just backing up to a neighbor's front door to unload their house .... one I was not there and they lost all of their electronic equipment ... the door was kicked in and the thiefs entered and took what they wanted.
