Checked with some of our local banks and found they charge people to cash a check on commercial accounts. The fee is charged to those who walk in the door and cash a commercial check written on that bank. For example, I found that Chase Bank was charging people who walked into Chase Bank with a check written form my Commercial Chase Bank Account a fee for cashing the Chase Bank Check. At the time I believe it was around $5.00. NOW thy did tell me thaqt if the check casher had a Chase Acount .... that they did not charge the fee.
I felt that was pretty darned snotty and closed my account there. Shopping around I found there are several banks charging the fee. My accounts have been changed to a bank where they do not charge my customers aq fee for cashing my business checks at their teller windows ..... Bank of the West.
