That's not bad logic

unfortunately, we're dealing with close to three hundred people who are free to give out their personal code to whomever they want. I would like to restrict the traffic as much, if not more, than anyone - but there is no way to control who gives their code to whoever else. I'll talk to Mickey and see if the gate can take a code that is valid only certain times throughout the day. Maybe it's worth a try, who knows... thanks for your suggestion

Thanks for the input

Hi Sean,

I couldn't remember if I had responded to your message or not, so forgive me if I'm repeating myself. Thanks for your input about the gates. I personally agree that the gates should be closed, that's one of the primary reasons we chose our neighborhood. Regarding the Boards ability to discuss the matter, best I know that's why we have a board. They represent the residents in making decisions about the neighborhood. The neighborhood owns the gate therefore, it's the neighborhood's decision. The neighborhood elected a board to represent them in making such decisions, therefore it is their place to make such a determination. There are no guidelines on how ''important'' an issue be before someone else should make the decision. We elected the board, it's their job to make these decisions. If we don't like the way that they are deciding on such issues, then they shouldn't be elected again. Obviously, the neighborhood's input is invaluable when discussing such ''important'' matters and that's why I posted the topic here for discussion. It is not practical however, to take a full vote on every decision that needs to be made. Once again, I appreciate your input and concern about our neighborhood.
Close Gates!!!

I like the idea of having codes that only work from 7AM till 5PM. The idea is to restrict casual traffic by people that have no business in the neighborhood. This will also restrict access to ''door to door'' sales people.
