I am so thrilled that the gates are closed again. It has cut down on the amount of people speeding into the community not to mention no solicitors again. When the gates were open I saw people driving in so fast they looked like they were on the sides of the tires and barely missing the center island. But, we still have a problem with drivers going way too fast. I have seen a truck come to inches of a child on his bike on Climbing Rose Way. That driver was careful and saw him but this is a serious issue. These are adults with children of their own that I have seen doing this. Any ideas on how to slow them down? Can the police sit and ticket people in a gated community?

Speed Control
I have to agree! Cars are continously speeding around the corner of Southern Magnolia lane in what appears to be a rush to sit at a closed gate. It's only a matter of time before two cars approaching at the same time (in opposite directions) are going to collide head on (speeding around this corner). For those who have never witnessed or worked a head on collision...It's not pretty and the majority of people don't get out and shake it off. Especially if they have children. There have been some close calls in which cars whipping around the corner have never considered that someone might be backing/entering my driveway. Why speed around the corner only to have a stop sign (which not many people stop for) and a closed gate within a couple hundred feet if that? I'm not one to want the sheriff's office sitting arond every corner when thier time can be utiled on much more important things, however this has got to stop before someone gets seriously hurt. |
