North Sacramento has a wonderful area called Woodlake. About 25 Woodlake residents got together on April 17, 1999 and did a great job of beautifying a traffic island at the intersection of Woodlake Drive and Royal Oaks Blvd. Prior to the project, the island was blacktop. After, it had a tree, a succulent, about 50 plants and the sign shown with it's creator, Gary Miller, past president.
Woodlake's neighborhood association is called the Woodlake Neighborhood Association or WNA for short. WNA was formed in 1982 as the Woodlake Improvement Club with the objective of serving the interests of its residents.
WNA meets the first Wednesday of every month at 6:30 p.m. except July and December at The Radisson, 500 Leisure Lane.
WNA produces a newsletter nine times per year that is mailed to every residence.
Dues are $10 a year or $25 for three years.
WNA sponsors annual events such as the Easter Parade, 4th of July parade, National Night Out and pumpkin carving party.
Woodlake is also home to the Woodlake Garden Club which has been in continuous existence since the 1940's. Woodlake also has a Swim Club with its own swimming pool. Woodlake is a great place to enjoy life.
