Woodland/Horseshoe Oaks HOA asking pet owners to be alert after reports of pet poisoning. A longtime member of our community is reporting that her pets have been targets of pet poisoning. We’re urging community pet owners to be alert.
Someone is lacing dog treats with rat poison and throwing them over the fence into several yards. The poisoning was originally reported three years ago, with one or two instances during the first year and now it seems to be getting worse. Pet owners on Cotton King have been hit particularly hard since their street backs up to a culvert/drainage ditch. One child handled a poisoned treat but a vigilant parent quickly removed the dangerous item before it could serious injury to that child. Several dogs have become critically ill or died from these cruel actions. No one should have to live in fear of this happening again in our community or bear the burden of losing a beloved pet and paying all the medical costs involved. These incidents have been reported to Schertz Animal Control and Police Department.
