Our discussion board seems to be more of a bashing board. Residents that never seem to attend monthly council meetings are quick to express their negative thoughts of how things are run in Woodlawn Park on the discussion board. The meetings are open to anyone and you have the opportunity to speak when you do attend. You can hear the police report and all current matters that the council is working on. We have a great group of residents that were elected by the city residents (those who voted) working for us. More residents should attend the meetings! Get involved!Thanks, to our council, mayor and police! Great Job!

Not a Bash

I posted a message on our ''Talk About It'' board. I am very concerned about the crime that has happened in our neighborhood. I am very suprised at the people who have become so defensive about what I have said. It was never my intention to insult anyone on our board or any of my neighbors. I understand that there is a meeting every month, however if there is a person out there peeping into windows or breaking into our homes I think there should be a way of notifying neighbors so we can all be on the look out. One of the most recent break-ins happened days after our meeting. I don't want to find out about three weeks later at the next meeting. Also not all of us are able to attend these meetings. I work until 6pm every Monday and then attend school until 9:30pm. Does this mean that I can not be concerned about things that go on in our neighborhood?

''talk about it'' discussions are not allways going to be in a positive nature. Its the news of the neighborhood. If anyones feels that there is bashing going on keep in mind in the end all concerning commets are made in an effort to better WP we all want to be safer and well informed. This means talking about all aspects good and bad. Maybe someone will post something Ive never thought about but thats important and should be addressed. Also my concerns are no less important because I can not make council meetings.
