UPCOMING PUBLIC INPUT OPPORTUNITY

Public meeting for Northeast Corridor Metro Loop

Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007, 6 p.m.

E.P. ?“Tom?” Sawyer State Park Activities Center

3000 Freys Hill Road

An introductory public meeting to begin the planning process for the Metro Loop?’s route in the northeast corridor ?– between Shelbyville Road and River Road ?– takes place at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, December 19, 2007, at the activities center in E.P. ?“Tom?” Sawyer State Park, 3000 Freys Hill Road.

At this meeting, participants will hear an overview of the project, then break into small groups to look at maps of their neighborhoods and discuss route alternatives. At least two additional public meetings will allow citizens to review and respond to design alternatives as the planning process moves forward.
Planning should be complete by July 2008, at which time public input will have shaped a proposed route for paved bike and pedestrian trails in the northeastern corridor.

A project web site ?– at www.louisvilleky.gov/MetroParks/cityofparks/projects/northeastloop.htm
?– will allow citizens to:

?• sign up to receive meeting notices and project updates via e-mail.

?• send feedback to the planning team.

?• review and respond to documents and presentations as the planning process moves forward (in case they can?’t attend meetings in person).

You must sign up for the e-mail list at the web site listed above to ensure
you?’ll receive meeting notices and project updates!

Coming soon ?– In early 2008, a similar public process will begin for the Metro Loop corridor in the southwestern part of town, from the Fern Creek/Okolona area over to Riverside, the Farnsley-Moremen Landing.
